The VHorns Saxophones library contains 8 individual saxophones: 2 Sopranos, 2 Altos, 2 Tenors and 2 Baritones.
We recorded two of each (with two different players) to cover two distinct styles of playing; one more jazz-oriented, with more breath, and the other more classical-focused, with a much cleaner tone.
You can also purchase the pairs of instruments individually:
Alto saxophones - Soprano saxophones - Tenor saxophones - Baritone saxophone
We carefully measured the different parameters that change when a saxophonist uses vibrato and combined everything into a highly realistic and customizable vibrato for VHorns Saxophones.
There are multiple ways to control the vibrato: automatic, automatic depending on time, and manually.
Mix Tab
Virtual Space tab
There is an endless number of ways to play a brass instrument, and we took the time to talk to world-class players about the different variations they incorporate into their playing on a regular basis.
Based on these discussions, we decided to incorporate an ‘Advanced Editing’ tab into all our VSeries libraries - giving you near-infinite control over these instruments.
The VHorns Saxophones support MPE, so you can use them with your preferred MPE-enabled hardware.
Microtuning is controllable and editable on the 'Tuning' box (pictured), giving you the option to play using non-traditional scales.
Once all this is set, it should have plenty of variation, but a good solution to make it even more convincing is to go a step further and just have two different MIDI files with randomized note positions as well as slightly different air flow controls. The best solution would even be to just play the performance twice as it wil introduce all of the necessary variation.
UVI Workstation v3.1.6 is required for the library to function properly, the VHorns will not work on windows XP, or OSX 10.6, it will not work on a receptor either.
800Mb compressed in lossless flac format (203Mb for both alto saxophones, 215Mb for both soprano saxophones, 203Mb for both tenor saxophones and 178Mb for both baritone saxophones).
Sample player
VHorns Saxophones comes with its own sample player, the UVI Workstation 3 (requires v3.1.6 or later). We provide it for free with every library that you buy, you don't need to buy an expensive sampler to use our products. It works on Mac (10.14 or later intel or arm processor) and PC (windows 10 or later), in standalone or as a plugin (VST / VST3 / AU / AAX) and in 64 bits only. You can find more info about it here.
Copy Protection
We use the iLok system to protect our products and you can choose to register your license to your computer or to an iLok dongle. If you decide to use an iLok dongle, both V1 and V2 are compatible with our products. You can activate your license on up to 3 computers or iLok dongles at the same time and you can deactivate one and activate another as many times as you want.

It sounds absurdly realistic, i would love to know more about the technical details
As a young man, I played flute, sax and synth, and performed lead vocals for a progressive rock band. We weren't bad.
But what had started out as a minor habit soon got the better of me and I lost so much. That habit was synthesisers. The loss was flute and sax.
Though I went over to the dark side of music (almost purely electronic) I still loved the sound of a well-played flute and sax, and I tried MANY sample libraries to find something to incorporate into my music. For me, the VHorns saxes are the first ones that I'm totally happy with. Beautiful tone (nasty tone when you want it) and a wonderful control system. I'd happily recommend these instruments to anyone who'll listen.
I'm eagerly awaiting the forthcomng woodwinds. These will be added to my cellection without hesitation.
