This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII) is being used online. What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website or app?

We collect information from you when you register on our site or enter information on our site.
Data collected by our products (activation and licensing)
Our virtual instruments and plug-ins contact our license server when you activate a product, and periodically afterwards to confirm that the activation is still valid. Each request contains:
• your serial number and the product and version being activated;
• the name and email address you entered when activating, so we can show the activation in your account;
• a machine fingerprint: a one-way hash computed from hardware identifiers of your computer (such as the platform identifier, the system disk identifier and the processor identifier). The identifiers themselves stay on your computer; only the hash is sent, and it cannot be reversed into them;
• the plug-in format in use (standalone, VST3, AU, AAX);
• a short diagnostic code if the product detects that its copy protection has been tampered with.
Our server also records the date and the IP address of each request, as any web server does.
We use this data only to activate and validate licenses, to enforce the activation limit, to fight piracy, and to help you when you contact support. The products never send your audio, your projects, your MIDI data or the names of the files you work on. We do not sell or share this data with third parties. Activation records are kept for as long as your license is active, plus the time needed to handle support requests and disputes. You can see and deactivate your activations from your account, and you can ask us to delete your data by contacting us.
Products that run in UVI Workstation or Falcon are activated through UVI's system and are covered by UVI's privacy policy. iOS products are covered by Apple's.
Your rights under the GDPR (EU and UK visitors)

We process your data on the following legal bases:
• to create your account, process your orders, deliver your products and provide support: performance of a contract;
• to keep invoices and order records: our legal obligations (French law requires accounting records to be kept for 10 years);
• to activate and validate licenses and to fight piracy: our legitimate interest in protecting our products;
• to send you our newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email;
• to measure the website audience with Google Analytics: see our Cookie policy.
Who receives your data:
• our payment providers, Stripe and PayPal, which process your payment; card numbers go to them directly and never reach our servers;
• our email delivery provider, Mailgun, for order confirmations, support replies and newsletters;
• UVI, for products that run in UVI Workstation or Falcon, which receives the serial number needed to register the product on your UVI account;
• Google, for audience measurement;
• our hosting provider, which stores our website and databases.
Some of these providers are located outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. Such transfers rely on the safeguards provided by the GDPR: an adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it:
• account data: until you ask us to delete your account;
• orders and invoices: 10 years, as required by law;
• license activations: as long as the license is active, plus the time needed to handle support requests and disputes;
• support messages: kept until you ask us to delete them;
• analytics data: Google keeps individual visit data for up to 14 months (the maximum its setting allows for our account); aggregated statistics, which cannot identify you, are kept without time limit.
Your rights: you may ask for access to the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you have given. Write to us through the contact page; we answer within one month. Deleting the account data attached to a license means that license can no longer be recovered, so we will confirm with you first. If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), the French supervisory authority, or with the authority of your own country.
Cookies: essential cookies (session, cart, currency, language) are needed for the site to work and require no consent. We also use Google Analytics for audience measurement. Details are in our Cookie policy.
