Overview
STRAIGHT FROM THE STAGE
The E-Pian is a classic 73-key electric piano from 1972, recorded with its direct output plugged into a tube preamp. Its tines were adjusted to give very few overtones, which makes it especially warm.
It was in "normal" condition, not properly restored, with a few keys not sounding quite right - so we sampled it both before and after fixing them. This might be the electric piano you find on stage, five minutes before your concert. Around 3465 samples, with 13 velocity layers for the sustain and up to 26 velocities for the releases.
Interface
Features
Original or cleaned

The few imperfect keys of the original instrument were sampled as they were, and again once fixed: one switch chooses between the original and the cleaned version.
Click Settings for the rest of the controls: the release and pedal noise volumes - the pedal noise adds a lot to the realism - and the sensitivity, which sets how quiet the softest notes are.

Tweaks
Original / Cleaned: plays the original keys, imperfections included, or the fixed ones
Release Volume: the sound produced when you release a key while a note is playing
Pedal Volume: the sound of the sustain pedal being pressed or released, triggered automatically
Sensitivity: sets the minimum volume for velocity 1, from a narrow to the full dynamic range
EQ, amp, tremolo and spring reverb
The Bass and Treble EQ reproduces the two knobs of the real instrument, and an amp simulation based on a Fender 212 cabinet can be switched on or off.
The stereo tremolo is part of the sound of electric pianos, so its amount and speed are here too, along with a spring reverb made from an impulse response of the kind of reverb most used on this instrument.

Effects

Reverb: a spring reverb built from an impulse response
