AkousKontr
A German 4/4 four strings Upright bass recorded with a pair of Electrostatic Microphones and from the pickup itself.
Overview
MICROPHONES AND PICKUP
The AkousKontr is a German 4/4 four-string upright bass, recorded both from its pickup and with a pair of electrostatic microphones.
It is sampled in depth: around 1710 samples, with 5 velocity layers for the sustain, two takes of each note (2 round robins) so repeated notes never sound identical, and about 13 velocities for the releases.
Interface
Features
Legato, hammer-ons and slides

Play legato and the AkousKontr connects the notes the way a bassist would, with real hammer-on and slide samples.
The legato mode decides what an overlapping note does: trigger a hammer-on, a slide, a plain sustain, or nothing at all. The legato distance sets the widest interval it applies to, so a big jump is still played as a fresh note.

Legato controls
Legato Mode: choose whether playing legato triggers hammer-ons, slides, sustains, or has no effect
Legato distance: the maximum interval over which the legato applies
Vibrato, harmonics and percussion
An advanced vibrato effect sits on the modulation wheel, so you can bring it in and out as you play.
Harmonics, ghost notes and string hits are all sampled, along with percussion: hits with the hand on different parts of the bass.
Microphones or pickup
The AkousKontr was recorded both through its pickup and with the microphones, and you can set the volume of each from the interface to blend the two.
The sensitivity sets how quiet the softest notes are, and the release volume controls the sound of a string being released while a note is ringing.
